The community in Nkawkaw faces numerous challenges, including needs in education, healthcare, orphan care, environmental protection, tutoring, and agriculture. Volunteer opportunities are plentiful. We are a brand new organization that wants to help in all aspects of the lives of the people of Nkawkaw. The last time volunteers were in Nkawkaw was in 2002, more than 20 years ago. There is so much to be done and volunteers are the key element for these changes.
If you prefer rural life with real people, interacting with Ghanaians on a daily basis, and not living in a big city, Nkawkaw is the place for you. We offer a wide range of internships. Volunteers can also bring their ideas and we will do everything to fulfill their wishes. With the help of volunteers, we will build a strong organization.
We offer different opportunities for volunteers in Nkawkaw, such as helping in school, like preparing small stories to help children read and speak English. This helps the teachers and the children love it. You can also prepare little skits to help the children speak English and get them to contribute to the play. If you are French speaking, you can teach French basics.
You can bring ideas for the children’s development and introduce them to the outside world. Volunteers can also help clean up some fields with the help of citizens to create soccer playgrounds for children. Volunteers can grow organic vegetables and fruits without pesticides and involve some children in this project. Or volunteers can help provide free medical care in areas with limited access to medical care. Those who do not want to work in hospitals or schools have the opportunity to work on construction, such as painting schools, repairing broken school desks and chairs, etc.
